In the Alto Douro, near the world-wide famous area of the Palaeolithic engravings of Foz Côa (World Heritage) we find several sites, which are very important for the post-Palaeolithic prehistory of the region. Some of them are being studied by a team based in the village of Freixo de Numão (V.ª N.ª de Foz Côa)

The Oporto University is linked to this project.

The study of the site is carried also through Phd and Master thesis carried in this University.
